Day 13 This is a Man's World???

During my life as a tired yet ambitious young woman I've seen an huge change within our famdom especially our female audiences.

Just picture it: 1980s where discovering, exchangeing and watching Anime on that year was a very male demographic fanbase; it was like a miracle to find a good chunk of girls who also loved Anime. There was this weird wave of  disregarded to us to see if they even accepted us.

Don't believe me check out Cosplay in America on Instagram where they post stories of the cosplay/Anime stories and photos of old photos of Con Conventions.

And I felt the same way, trying find more information about this Anime phenomenon, during the 2000s I went to the book store and  libraries to find anything but no luck for me, until I went to my dad comic/book collections to find anything there and found one caught my eye and may of found the jackpot: the book was Called The Anime Movie Guide: Japanese Animation since 1983. (The book was made in 1996, I read it in 2001) This book save my life, just knowing the the difference genres and formats in Anime solved all my confusion back in the day.

It was made by Helen McCarthy, she a British author known for her anime reference books  from the 1992-2015 and that surprise me that an female author made an helpful anime book for all fans and new beginners.

And that's just one of people that helped me during my Anime journey, other were teens girls online helping me with its fanbase along with Manga, Japan culture other niche stuff, while the grown woman who are book authors, video editors, Voice Actors, translator, Cosplayer, and many more in the working space.

Like for Example

In japan on Anime/Manga they got

Rumiko Takahashi (creator of Maison Ikkoku Inuyasha and Ranma ½)

Hiromu Arakawa (creator of Silver spoons and  Full Metal Alchemist)

CLAMP (creator of X, Clover, Chobits and Cardcaptor Sakura)

Yuki Urushibara (creator of Mushishi)

Naoko Takeuchi (creator of Sailor Moon)

Jinsei Kataoka (creator of Deadman Wonderland)

Kamome Shirahama (creator of Witch Hat Atelier)

Anime Composers

Yoko Kanno (creator of Macross Plus, The Vision of Escaflowne + Film, Cowboy Bebop +Film, Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex, Wolf's Rain and Kids on the Slope)

Ichiko Hashimoto (creator of RahXephon)

Yuki Kajiura (creator of .hack//Sign, Tsubasa: Reservoir Chronicle, The Garden of Sinners, Puella Magi Madoka Magica and Demon Slayer series )

Michiru ÅŒshima (creator of 2003-Fullmetal Alchemist+2005-Film, Night Is Short, Walk On Girl and Bucchigiri?! ))

Saeko Suzuki (creator of Keroro Gunso)

Yoko Shimomura (Not a Anime Composer but, how can not add her on the list with a legendary Video Games Discography)

As the years have gone by changed(for better or worse), it...complected to say at least, I mean yeah we're being notices, to the point just to bully of what we love: accusing us as just hyper sexual creatures who loves yaoi, making erotic fanficion and shipping two characters together in fiction shows. And even if we really tell them that we love Anime they say that we're lying, quiz us about everything and just call us Fake fans, so you know the usual: shut up, look cute and sexy and be quiet...in which we never will, we still have a voice: we can also create awesome fan Animation, Music, stories and comics Etc., tell and give opinions that need to be heard in anime and Japanese culture space and have fun no matter our beauty, race, age or sex.

And please give me more female creators I and we need to know more of in the comments!

But as of right now, Love what who you are as woman, Be more vocal! And Stay Golden 💛
